Located on the northern Caribbean coast of Panama is the magical destination of Bocas del Toro. It is a paradise in the form of a tropical archipelago and mainland cloud forest mountains.

The name might cause some confusion so let’s clarify that. Bocas del Toro is a province in the northwestern corner of Panama. The capital of this province, located on Isla Colón, is also called Bocas del Toro, or Bocas Town, or simply Bocas.

The archipelago comprises an area of 250km² (97 sq miles) with 10 major islands, about 50 cays and some 200 tiny islets. Within the archipelago lies Isla Bastimentos National Marine Park – Panama’s first marine park – created in 1988.

Bocas has much to offer, from scuba diving, snorkeling, surfing and hiking to relaxing on a beautiful beach.
